We’re just about to break up for Christmas, and we’ve a whole load of stuff on – Hopefully you’ll be able to join us for some of them!
First, this Thursday at the Ferret, Hello Bastards are putting on an amazing Christmas party: Liverpool based space-rock legends Mugstar headline, with the Fylde coast’s Earthling Society, Manchester’s Bodies on Everest and Mugstar’s singer Peter Smythe with a bonus solo slot. This is going to be totally solid, and only seven quid. Details are here.
This Friday, our own Polypores is playing at the Beats of Rage Christmas bash, supporting (or being supported by, we think) Manchester clubland legend Justin Robertson. We still fondly remember the JDJ mix Robertson did that was given away free with Select in the mid 90s, which we’re pleased to find can now be found on the internet… have a listen. If that wasn’t enough, Concréte DJs will be spinning disks, alongside Trauma Wilx, Bail & TF Wizard. Should be a totally smashing night.
On Saturday, we’ll be in Salford at Islington Mill, playing tunes between bands for the Fatout Christmas Party – this is an immense lineup: top of the bill is heavy psych supergroup Melting Hand, who we’ve been itching to hear since we knew of their existence. Members of Terminal Cheesecake, Bong/Drunk In Hell/Blown Out!, Gum Takes Tooth… they’ve an album out which sounds eyeball meltingly heavy, so we can only imagine how it’s going to be live. Also featuring are the sinuous Naked on Drugs, Locean, Slow Knife and Bummer Squad.
Next weekend it’s Christmas, but the 27th brings you the Concréte Christmas Party, where your presence is demanded. Late license, live shit from This Machine, PRTYDSTRYR and Dilbotronic, Bail, TF Wizard & us DJing, and all for free. It’s going to be great…
