22nd May: Paul Nagle, Lorentzian

Concrete MAY 16.jpg

We were blown aways when Paul Nagle played at Concrète as half of Headshock, so when we spotted him on the tracklist of this amazing new 4-disk anthology of early British electronic music alongside luminaries like Throbbing Gristle, Eyeless in Gaza, Muslimgauze (and the Human League, OMD and Thomas Leer), we reckoned it was the perfect time to get him back.

One of the pioneers of modern electronic music, Nagle has been producing music for over 30 years – this is a rare opportunity to see him on his home ground. Expect a show of expertly paced Berlin-school atmospherics, drones and ambience.

Support tonight comes from our own Lorentzian, who’s got some new boxes – so we’re not totally sure how it’s going to sound, other than ‘good’. A recent record consolidation exercise has resulted in a massive early 90s ambient revival at Concrète towers, so we’ll be playing some of that stuff between the acts too. See you there!
